BITS, Pilani is a premier university imparting technical education to meritorious students from all over India. The university has campuses at Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. BITS, Pilani specializes in the following courses:
B.E. (Electrical,
Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, etc.)
M.Sc. (Hon) with
specializations in Physics, Maths, Biology, Economics, etc with dual
degree. Students studying for M.Sc. (Hon.) may opt for any
Engineering degree for dual option. Thus, the students are given
M.Sc. as well as B.E. after successful completion of course. M.Sc.
(Hon) will be for a duration of 5 years whereas B.E.(Hon) will be
for a duration of 4 years.
M.Sc. (Tech) is also offered by the University which is of 5 years duration.
Admissions will be made purely on merit. The merit position of the candidate will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in a Computer based Online Test (BITSAT) conducted by BITS, Pilani. BITSAT, short for Birla Institute of Technology and Science Aptitude Test, is a Computer based online test for Admission to Integrated First Degree Programmes of BITS Pilani Campuses in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad
BITSAT will be of total 3-hour duration (without break). There will be 150 questions in all.
The test consists of four parts:
Part I (Physics) - 40
Part II (Chemistry) - 40
Part
III
(a) English Proficiency - 15
(b) Logical Reasoning - 10
Part IV: Mathematics - 45
